Trump Issues Stunning Announcement About ‘the Left’ After Kirk Shooting

President Donald Trump suggested over the weekend that left-wing organizations and individuals are “under investigation” following last week’s shocking assassination of conservative youth influencer and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk

Trump, speaking to reporters in New Jersey before departing for his Bedminster golf resort, said, “You know, they’re already under major investigation. … A lot of the people that you would traditionally say, ‘they’re on the left.’”

A reporter asked Trump to clarify: “They’re already under investigation?” to which the president responded: “Already under investigation.”

Meanwhile, a source familiar with the investigation into Kirk’s assassination told Fox News Digital that the FBI is examining leftist groups in Utah for possible ties to the alleged shooter.

“The source told Fox News Digital that the FBI is investigating the leftist groups to see if they knew about the alleged shooter’s plans beforehand or provided any assistance to him. The source did not elaborate on which groups are being investigated,” the outlet reported, adding that Axios was the first media outlet to report the development.

House Republicans are demanding a formal congressional investigation into what they describe as “radical left” networks following the fatal shooting of Kirk at Utah Valley University.

On Sept. 11, the day after Kirk was shot while speaking on his “American Comeback Tour,” Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, sent a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson urging the creation of a select committee to investigate organized left-wing violence.

The letter was co-signed by 22 other Republican lawmakers, Newsmax reported.

“We must take every step to follow the money and uncover the force behind the NGOs, donors, media, public officials, and all entities driving this coordinated attack,” Roy wrote, citing the 2024 assassination attempt on President Donald Trump and the 2017 congressional baseball shooting as part of a broader pattern of violence against conservatives.

If formed, the committee would have subpoena power and focus on organizations such as Antifa and donors like George Soros, who has long been a target of Republican criticism.

“Political violence of any kind is unacceptable, no matter who commits it,” said Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C. “But let’s not pretend this is an even playing field. In recent years, we’ve seen organized and well-funded efforts from the radical left to intimidate, disrupt, silence, and even justify violence against Americans they don’t agree with.”

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller told Fox News host Sean Hannity that the murder will lead to an all-out effort by Trump’s administration to root out and “dismantle” left-wing “domestic terrorists” who the president believes are responsible for fomenting violence and attacks against right-leaning groups and individuals.

Miller specifically blamed violent rhetoric coming from members of the Democratic Party, several of whom have referred to the president as “Hitler” and his supporters as “fascists” and “threats to democracy” for years.

“The Democrat Party, its pundits, its allies, the educators, for 10 years have waged a campaign of eliminationist rhetoric against President Trump, against Republicans, against MAGA, against Trump officials. It has been willful and deliberate, Sean. The rhetoric that you played, the messages that you played in that clip are the same exact rhetoric and messages that are used by the assassins, that are used by the two assassins who tried to kill Donald Trump, that are used by the assassin who claimed the life of my friend, an American hero, Charlie Kirk. This is willful and deliberate radicalization,” Miller began.

“They know what they’re doing. Our universities, in many cases, have become incubators for extremism. They’ve become the equivalent of madrasas for jihadism. There is a domestic terrorism movement in this country,” he added.

“The power of law enforcement under President Trump’s leadership will be used to find you, will be used to take away your money, take away your power, and if you’ve broken the law, to take away your freedom,” he said.
