We announce the loss of the cherished Hailey Merkt, who was most recognised for her part in season 21 of “The Bachelor,” with heavy hearts. Hailey’s family sent a poignant statement on her Instagram account to reveal her valiant fight with cancer and her demise.
At just thirty-one, Hailey approached her health journey with an unfathomable level of grace, bravery, and selflessness. She chose to spend her last moments with loved ones, doing what she loved most, and without regrets, defying the doctors’ timelines despite the obstacles in her path.
Hailey was given a leukaemia diagnosis in October 2023. But in an encouraging development, she declared on her GoFundMe page in April that she had received a bone marrow transplant and was now cancer-free.
This little moment of optimism, however, was dashed when Hailey learnt the horrifying news that the leukaemia cells had come back and were growing quickly.
